Background Subacute osteomyelitis in children is a distinct entity encompassing primary localized osteomyelitis. It poses diagnostic problem related to its few or no constitutional symptoms, misleading radiological manifestations and often negative bacteriological investigations. The treatment remains very controversial. Objectives aim of this study was identify the main epidemiological, clinical, histological evolutionary characteristics affection propose an adequate therapeutic attitude. Methods retrospective longitudinal study, carried out over period 25 years from January 1995 December 2019 orthopedic department Taher Sfar Hospital,Mahdia, that included 37 cases subacute children. Results mean age patients seven nine months with male predominance (sex ratio: 2.27). average time hospitalization 41 days.
